The Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts (APCA) Indonesia held its 5th graduation ceremony on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The event marked a milestone for the graduates of the Culinary Arts Batch 17-18 and Pastry & Bakery Arts Batch 18-20 programs. Taking place at the She La Vie Grand Ballroom, The Flavor Bliss, Alam Sutera, the graduation was attended by families, industry professionals, and the F&B community to celebrate the birth of a new generation of Indonesian culinary professionals.
The event served as the culmination of an intensive 9-month program for students who underwent practical-based training, mentorship from professional chefs, and exposure to global industry standards. A core strength of APCA is its full-time, hands-on practical classes held Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. More than just an academic achievement, this moment signified the readiness of these Diploma holders to dive directly into a dynamic and competitive industry.
“At APCA Indonesia, we believe that culinary education is not just about technique, but also about forging discipline, creativity, and resilience. Our graduates today are not only ready to work, but also ready to contribute and elevate Indonesian culinary standards to a higher level,” said Louis Tanuhadi, President of APCA Indonesia. He added, “This graduation is a transition point from the learning process to real-world industry challenges. We are confident that the graduates carry a strong foundation, along with the mindset to continuously grow amidst rapid changes.”
Esteemed chefs were invited to present the graduation certificates and conduct special masterclasses. Notable figures in attendance included:
The graduation event featured a formal procession, awards for outstanding students, and a culinary showcase reflecting the creativity and skills of the graduates. This moment also served as a networking hub connecting new talent with industry professionals spanning the restaurant, hospitality, and culinary business sectors.
“APCA Indonesia graduates possess excellent job readiness. They understand the rhythm of a professional kitchen, discipline, and consistency—qualities highly sought after in today’s industry,” remarked one of the attending industry professionals.
They added, “What’s interesting is that they are not only technically strong, but they also possess a great work ethic and high adaptability. This is what makes them relevant in the ever-evolving F&B industry.” As Indonesia's culinary industry continues to grow, the role of institutions like APCA Indonesia becomes increasingly vital in producing talent that is not only competent but also ready to meet future industry demands.
With student enrollments increasing every year in Indonesia, APCA Bali will be having its Grand Opening in August as APCA International’s second location in Indonesia. This expansion responds to the rapidly growing hospitality industry on the island and provides greater accessibility for prospective students from Eastern Indonesia.
